The family of Lucille Batten Rollins want to thank George and Kellen for all the help and support with planning our mom’s service. They made everything easy and smooth and handled mom with care and compassion..
We were very happy with the service and how they made this such an easy transition. !
Thank you both for making this so much less traumatic than it could have been,
10 stars all the way
My sister Jennifer passed away on November 15, 2022. George, Kellyn, and Marie was so helpful and caring to me!! It didn’t matter the time of day, whenever I had a question or needed help they were there for me!! I love the this funeral home and I love the hamann family!! 🙏🏻😊❤️🙏🏻😊❤️
Although it has been a few months since I lost my husband, the kindness and compassion George showed our family will never be forgotten. Barry was fortunate to plan his own funeral arrangements with the help of George and also with the aid of his cousin Susan Herring. It was an amazing experience for Barry to choose the music, the length of the service at the funeral home and so man other intricate details of his journey to heaven. I would encourage everyone to take the time to sit with George and make a real celebration of life before you don’t have that opportunity to solidify your desires. Thank you George! Barry really went in peace knowing every detail would be followed through.
Adequate written words can't be found to express my gratitude to George and his staff for the kindness and professionalism that they exhibited last month, towards the family of a young man who passed away unexpectedly. George was not only kind, but also generous and available for the family during their time of need. Thank you George for all that you did & all that you continue to do for others. Your kindness will always be remembered.
We lost two family members in the past year and a half - one unexpectedly, and one during the pandemic after a long illness. Denny and George guided us through the funeral arrangements with kindness, compassion, and patience. They helped us choose affordable options that would honor our loved ones while not creating an undue financial burden for the family. Recognizing that our family relies on humor to get us through difficult and stressful situations, they incorporated humor into the process at appropriate times and in respectful ways. They really do have a natural gift for putting people at ease!
Kellyn is an angel - very sweet and compassionate, and always available to answer questions and help in any way needed. She's the best! And we can't forget to mention Kellyn's sweet little dog, Grover. He entertained our children while we were making the arrangements and provided some much needed puppy love and comfort both before and after the viewings.
Our family will always be grateful to Denny, George, Kellyn, and little Grover for the love and support they provided during the most difficult times of our lives, and for the extra care and support they provided during the pandemic. We would never consider using anyone else for final arrangements!
My daughter Vivian passed away 6/2/2020 and what was the most hardest day of my life...a little light shined in when I met George from Claytor Rollins funeral home.
He sang frozen with my daughters shell all the way to the funeral home and took great care of her in my absence.
I had to see her one last time spur of the moment and George ran right over for me to see her..which meant the world...
I have yet to pick her ashes up..but this funeral home is incredible and we're so blessed to have George as a forever part of my memory of Vivs passing on to heaven.
He deserves a bonus.
As with most unexpected deaths, the family is in a crisis mode. While we knew our mom was nearing the end of her long lift at 96 1/2, we hadn’t really prepared for the day to come on so suddenly. To make a long story short, when mom passed, the phone number we had was supposed to be a crematory in Poquoson. But then very respectful gentlemen told my more than distraught sister, mom died in her arms in her home, they were taking mom to Chesapeake, it was more than she could handle! As a woman of faith, I had to call on the Lord at 7:30 am, when I learned what had happened. I did a quick investigation and somehow came across George Hamann - and I knew it was a divine meeting!!! I can’t thank God enough for helping me find him. I’m sure every family faces some sort of crisis. When it happens, you want the Lord to give you a man with the experience, professionalism and care as George. He took care of every detail in an expeditious manner and our family finally found the peace we needed at mom’s graveside service. Thank you for eternity George and may God continue to bless and protect you, your family and your business. Can you believe, funeral homes are not considered essential. My heart aches for others who have to maneuver the added burden of the Coronavirus to their grief….
Our family is so grateful for the staff at Claytor Rollins. With Dads unexpected passing we were met with such compassion and love by both George and Kellyn at a time when we really needed it. Your services were very professional and exactly what we and he wanted them to be. Thank you for being so wonderful at what you do and so compassionate to those you do it for.
