Joan Y. Firth, 86, was called home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2024. Born and raised in Poquoson, she eventually became a longtime resident of Surry County, and more recently, a resident of Chesterfield County.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Mc. and Catherine Spady Firth; her baby brother, Alvin Mc. Firth, Jr.; her granddaughter, Kandis Williams Carter; and her brothers-in-law Buddy Hite and Hank Schroeder.
She is survived by her sisters, Zoan Firth Hite and Dorothy Firth Schroeder; and her brothers, Russell Firth (Audrey) and Terry Firth (Sharon).
Joan is also survived by her children, Teresa M. Morse (Johnny), Lesa Williams Hartge (Henry), and Larry Manning; her grandchildren, John Morse, Jr., Scott Morse, Robby Williams, Lee Manning, and Trevor Manning; her great-grandchildren, Ash Morse, Sage Morse, Gia Morse, Mia Morse, Reign Williams, Tripp Carter, Jasper Flores, and Bobby Williams; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Joan will be deeply missed by her family who will forever cherish her memory.
The family will receive friends in her honor at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson on Friday, April 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Weston Cemetery on Poquoson Ave. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
