Beverly Holloway Obituary

Beverly Ann Holloway of Poquoson, Virginia passed away on February 2, 2026 surrounded by her family after a brief illness.  She was born on June 20, 1935 to George and Emilie Flannick of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Dianne Padlock, her brothers Jack Flannick, Patrick Flannick and in-laws Quincy and Louise Holloway.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 69 years, Warren Holloway and four children: Greg Holloway (Lisa), Karen Bowen (Jay), Cindy Bowen (Cliff) and Monica Diggs (Scott). She had 11 grandchildren: Christa Davis, Ryan Holloway (Caroline), Ben Holloway, Megan Hosford (Tyler), Michael Bowen (Danielle), Melody Bersach (Manny), Bethany Barto (Kevin), Christopher Bowen (Lauren), Lauren Temple (Ryan), Daniel Diggs, Jessica Tran (David) and bonus granddaughter Tylar Bobay (Mike).  She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Annie.

At the age of 19, Beverly joined the Women’s Army Corp. and was stationed at Fort Monroe, Virginia where she met a Bull Islander named Warren; fell in love and married in 1956.  Beverly was a stay-at-home mom raising her four children while working as a seamstress.  After caring for her mother-in-law, she attended nursing school, became an LPN and worked in long-term care facilities until she retired in 2002.  Upon retirement, she continued to volunteer her time at her church and at various community outreaches.  It was her personal relationship with Jesus Christ that motivated her to serve her family, friends, neighbors and community.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11th at 2:00pm at Trinity United Methodist Church in Poquoson, under the care of Claytor-Rollins Funeral Home.  A reception will immediately follow the service in the multi-purpose room.  Graveside service will be at Parklawn Memorial Park Thursday, February 12th at 3:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Care Net Peninsula of Newport News, Virginia.
