Eva Elizabeth (Richmond) Brewster

Gloucester – Eva Elizabeth Brewster, 76, a Poquoson native, residing in Gloucester for the past 20 years, passed away peacefully at home with her daughter Carol by her side on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

Eva helped her late husband Harry establish Brewster’s Heating and Air Conditioning, proudly serving thousands of residential customers for more than 50 years. Her passion was caring for others. She volunteered with the Poquoson Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, serving in multiple administrative and leadership roles for more than 20 years. Eva spent much of her professional life as a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring from her nursing career at Walter Reed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She loved time on the water, camping, traveling, and caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry Brewster; father, Joe Richmond; mother, Sarah Martin Richmond; brother, Joe Richmond, II; and daughter, Melissa Brewster. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Brewster Lands and husband David of Gloucester; son, John Brewster of Onancock; grandchildren, Taylor and husband Robert Simone, Jr., Collin and wife Alexandra Porner Lands, and Kendall Lands, Kyle, Brent, Alaina and Braylin Brewster, and Ariel Belch; great grandchildren, Elliott and Eloise Lands, and Henry Simone; and best friend and sister, Mae Whitehurst.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 7:00-8:00 PM, and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 30, 1:00 PM, all at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. Burial will follow at Eastern Cemetery, Poquoson. Online condolences to claytorrollins.com.
